    Thanks mate!
I have a floyd as well, and have ordered a black 3 ply scratch plate to hack up. Need to find a 1971 quarter, I have a stack in my toolbox so I'll see if I have the right one, might get close, and I have a cheaply bridge humbucker and single coil to put in it. I'd expect to replace the humbucker with something better down the road.....
Need to source the hooks eyes and the reflectors as well as a correct metal 3 way switch for the middle pickup position.
Will use the Schaller knockoff tuners which come with the kit, unless I can get the correct ones at the right money.
Have had a long thought about getting the aging and wear right. Simon did a good job with his build, I'd like to get this close.
I'll take a pic of all the bits in a pile when I have them all in one place.

You could always ask him for a look, he's Sydney based as well. Inner Westie like me from memory.

Hand crafting guitars, because Death Rays are expensive.

Hey Simon, I just checked out your demo video of your EVH Frankenstrat, it looks and sounds awesome, and you're getting all those EVH sounds and nuances too, have you checked out my HotRod Strat thread?, feel free to do so if you haven't already done so.

Well I have done a bit more on my evh Frankenstein...
Here's the body I modified from hsh before paint...

And here's the body after paint. I used a Bunnings epoxy enamel for the white and black and a straight enamel for the red so it did not cover as well which was what I wanted. There's no primer as it would show through in the wearing process, so I used a lot of coats of sanding sealer to get the ash body smooth first.

Here it is today. The front is close now, most of the markings and lines are in the correctish places!
The pickup is a real cheapy, as is the floyd. I replaced all the Allen bolts with USA ones so it holds together ok and stays in tune.
Unfortunately I can't play it like Simon so I'm not going to embarrass myself with an audio demo 😊

Thanks mate! Not in this guise. This guitar had all sorts of stuff bolted to it over the years, but originally it had a plain neck with a Tele style heel and a strat headstock. For a while v h had a Gibson sticker on the end of it too!
In the 80s he had a Kramer hockey stick headstock model, not sure if it was the same body, don't think so, which might be what you are thinking of
Here's the man himself holding the real thing...

Here's that neck joint, with a .96mm pick for neck tilt and a few layers of al foil in there to get the angle right. It is a Tele style neck in a strat body cavity so it is not supposed to fit right.......!
