Well, that time of my life is approaching and I've set myself a task for the coming year - scratch built bass.

    Current vision:
    4 string (maybe through body)
    Neck through
    Australian wood body
    Ebony or sheoak fretboard
    Fretless
    Grover Titan style tuners
    Dual action truss rod

Up for grabs at the moment:
Pups - thinking a '51 P bass style at the front and a split coil 'bucker at the back
Bridge - Schaller, Babicz or individual saddles (for a through body)

Anthing I've missed? Any suggetions? Not looking for the total dream bass, but something that packs good bang for buck.

Hoping for around the $5-700 mark.

The only thing you missed was a trip to the DB man cave to build this beastie

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....
