Be aware, laying vinyl is very tricky. Because it's so thin and stretchy, every micro speck of dust shows under it and if you don't line up your edges perfectly the overlap will be pretty obvious. I lay vinyl a few times a week at work and it's not something I'd want to do.

I say mask and spray for the best results. Probably the easiest too.

Looking at the Texan Flag - go with a white base, then it's mask and spray blue and red. The results on Gavin and Eben's BC-1 look spectacular and show it can be done...

Hey guys, how can I make the pickguard have a matching design? Like have the part of the flag that is covered by the guard to have the pattern?

Get a clear pickguard, spray the back.

Hey Pablo, I'm going to use a waterbase finish, not Ni... Nit... Nitr... Ok, I'm off to DB's naughty corner!
Will a waterbase finish from StewMac work? Can I spray the red and blue to a white guard (like the one supplied with the kit)?

Get a clear pickguard, spray the back.
Doing this is like painting r/c car bodies.
Mask and spray the back .
You may find that the tamiya spray cans work well for this application

The problem with spraying the front is the paint will get scratched off over time. By painting the back of a clear plate, it will be protected. Water based paints won't adhere well to plastic. Best off with an acrylic paint.

Hey Pablo, are there any good sites that sell Strat guards in clear?
Or is anyone willing to do a specially made guard for me? I prefer a solid guard instead of a clear guard....
