    Had to find some videos of it in action. Sounds very unlike a typical bass with the octaves. Seems like it's strung up with E2-E2-E1, A2-A2-A1, etc. - in which case I'm not really sure I understand the need for the third course. Keeps your bass tech busy, I guess.

    Remember he is from a band called "Cheap Trick".... But 12 string basses actually have a very unique rumble to them. Listen to early King's X, Galactic Cowboys or Pearl Jam who all used 12 string basses tuned with a dropped D tuning.
