I've been looking to build an explorer kit with a burled ash or flamed maple veneer without a pick guard for quite some time now, but i can't seem to find anything that looks nice. I'm planning on buying the Pitbull EXM-1 soon but i was wondering if a kit with a veneer is possible?
You might send a message to Tim with what you are looking for. I don't know if he's able to do special orders yet, but it never hurts to ask for what you'd like. Meanwhile, I think the EXA-1 kits are ash. Not as nicely figured as flamed maple, but more figured than basswood. Unfortunately, I think the EX-1 type kits are also on the "banned list"!
