Replacing Binding

I recently purchased an SC1 kit and am working on replacing the binding. I'm having difficulty getting it to come off smoothly, even while using a heat gun. Any tips or tricks?

Personally, I am sure I'll be no help to you. I have done a couple of basses with binding. I end up doing a lot of swearing each time even without trying to replace it! ;-) However, other's more knowledgeable than I am may be able to help. I think if you post a few pics of your difficulties that will help... I know there are folks here who have done it...

So I changed tactics... The body is unfinished so I used a dremel to remove the binding. I was nervous but it actually worked very well
