    IB-4 FRetless bass Truss rod.

Hi, can anyone tell me is the truss rod fitted single or double action?

The neck I received has some backbow with the rod slack. The string tension just about pulls it flat but I can't get any relief to appear. I know I don't need much relief, but I'd like to be able to achieve some.

Thought I'd ask here before getting the sanding block out,

    Many Thanks,

    Grant.

TTBOMK all PBG necks are dual action, at least the 6-string electrics. However I have no direct experience with their basses.

I'm sure one of the many bass players here will weigh in eventually.

Yes, all the truss rods should be double action. The design of a double action truss rod in its square section tube means it’s much easier for the factory to install than a conventional single action rod, with a couple of simple routs needed and no curved inserts required.

If the rod is slack, then it’s in the mid-position and doing nothing. So turning clockwise it should start to bite and give some backbow, whilst turning anti-clockwise will give you some concave relief.
