    Es 335.

I built a 335 ages ago and is a great instrument. My question is should I have to have both volume knows on even if I've got it switched to either bridge or neck.
Of course won't matter in middle position.

    Hi Richard,
The ES kits are the same wiring as the LP styled kits. So you should Not need both volumes on when the switch is in the bridge or neck position. So if the neck volume is off, bridge volume is on - the bridge pickup will still work when the switch is in the bridge position. It will matter in the middle position though - if one is off both are effectively off. This is the reason these guitars were fitted with the 3 way switch switch - to prevent the one off all off scenario.

This also allows the 3 way switch to be used as a kill switch - with one volume off shifting the switch from the working position to the middle position will kill the sound output.

The little voices in my head keep telling me "build more guitars"
