I'd always use the original Titebond, just in case you (or someone else in the future) ever needs to reset the neck. Titebond 2 is pretty waterproof, Titebond 3 is very waterproof. Both 2 and 3 melt at a hotter temperature than original Titebond. It's why pro luthiers use the original stuff. It's more than strong enough, but the bond can be broken using heat and/or steam without doing too much damage to the guitar finish.

And speaking of neck angle, double check that on your ES-1. It's notoriously shallow and normally needs a shim if you plan to use to use the kit bridge if you want a decent action. I didn't check on mine and had to buy a Goldo Lowrider bridge in order to get the guitar playable. And those bridges are very hard to find.
