Hi,

I am defenitely not a builder. I know that, but quite a few years back i did have fun completing a Rickenbaker style bass. Took me a couple of years on and (mostly) off but eventually got to somehing that I quite like the look of, alas is not wokring well.

It is playable but the wiring is probably all messed up from an electronics point of view, knobs don't all do what they are supposed to and I suspect the pickups and bridge are not well positioned, sounds crap. I changed the bridge it came with which caused the action to be too high, and had to 'dig' the bridge into the body to maintain the level.

I am sure there are many other things wrong with it that someone who knows what they are doing would be able to pickup straight away.

Sadly this bass has been sitting there unplayed as I really don't have the skills or energy to make it right. But I would love for it to be salvaged and brought up to life so I could add it the other (purchased) basses I play with.

Would anyone in the Sydney area be interested in fixing this beauty (for a fee) so it can get the life it deserves and is played on regularly?

I know it is not the purpose of this groups or building kits, but one has to recognise his limitations - and there is so much talent in this group someone might be interested in fixing this project - again for a reasonable fee.
Otherwise recommendations on local setup and fixers who might be interrested (Eastwood/Epping area) would be great.

Cheers
Julien
