    Nice BD!
    I like guitars that cost less than all the hardware put on them!

    How did you end up doing the post-paint grain fill?

    I got most of what was already in the grain out, then painted the body with SCA red without primer. It really sinks into the wood and draws the grain lines down. Then once cured, I filled the grain with black timbermate by rubbing across the grain and took off what was on the surface with a damp rag. Then it was satin clear. I didn't want the grain fully filled as I was going for that textured finish where you can still feel the grain under your fingers.

    Cool. You had mentioned possibly using black acrylic paint instead of timbermate before, so was curious.

    Acrylic works too. I used the kids blue acrylic on my black tele scratch body which turned out a very cool effect
