Does the spring sit around the washer in the last picture?

I'm not going to change the washers that were supplied with the kit. But, I did cut the bottom (?) friction washer to allow the spring to sit further (all the way) into the recess. This already has made a big improvement to lowering the vibrato arm height.

It sure does. I didn't get a chance to look at options for springs today. I'll check that out in the morning.

You may not need to! Check how the spring fits now without the friction washer.

Mine still sits a touch high. If I had to cut the spring, I would start about where the pic shows, and rotate the spring so the ends sit in the pockets as square as possible. I still need to review spring options. Been a lazy couple days.

Interesting.......I just might have some bronze bushings left over from radio control cars that will work here. Maybe a little modification to them in the lathe. All of the plastic bushings are the same size, but made out of UHMW plastic, or something VERY soft. I'll mess with it today, and let you know what I come up with.

Can't even get bushings in this size (for a reasonable price). Nice project for the mini lathe. I'll turn up some nice fitting aluminum bushings. Just ordered the material. More to come! Cheers!
