BGS doesn’t seem to have the same BLO now, so it’s “Timber Oil Quicker Dry Concentrate”, which is “treated” linseed oil, with added drying agents.
    Very nice Dozy.

Are you using the “Timber Oil Quicker Dry Concentrate” for your home brew?
What mix ratio are you using? I ask as I'm finding it difficult getting tru-oil when I want it. Maybe I need to try a home brew.

Yeah, I first did a 33/33/33 mix with poly and turps, but for the second coat I just did a 50/50 mix with turps, because it’s already blended with “stuff”. Too soon to tell if that’s a good idea.

Turps will just act as a solvent, so you should just get a thinned version of BLO which should have the same polymerising properties as the base BLO mixture as it dries and cures. You just won’t get the added hardness from the poly. Poly makes it more like TruOil than BLO.

Makes sense. Or more precisely, a thinned down version of Timber Oil Quicker Dry Concentrate.

    Very nice. Great stuff.

How many coats of the poly mix did you end up using?

I only did about 3 coats of the “BLO” mix, because it seemed to not really be working that well, and was taking a couple of days to stop feeling tacky. So I just pivoted to a poly/turps mix. All up, about 35 coats.
