    Oops... I did it again...

No, I'm not Britany! But it looks like there is another non-PBG strat build in my future!

I've said over and over here, "I don't need another strat - I don't need another strat".
Well I managed to hold out for nearly a year, and I came to terms with the fact that I just love strats and I was just being silly!

I am going with a slightly different route than previous builds and using a pre-finished body. I just don't have the energy or motivation to do a complete finish job right now, so I ordered a body from Aliexpress. We'll see if I live to regret it. There are lots of positive reviews for the bodies and the seller, so fingers crossed, I'll be happy.

    Poplar body with 3-Tone Sunburst:

I already have a maple/maple neck from and earlier project already and have the pickups, electronics and other hardware. I did order a Wilkinson vibrato bridge and a white pearloid pickguard despite having others in my possession, but was wanted a specific look.

    Here's mock-up I generated on Fender's Mod Shop webpage:

It's a pretty standard (classic?) layout with no fancy design mods, but that is what I want. I will customise the pickguard shape slightly though, and have few little changes in mind that should require minimal effort. Construction won't commence until November as projected delivery date for the body is 02/11.

    Exciting stuff MCCreed!
Do you have experience with fitting a bolt-on neck from a different project onto a body?

I was to pick up a 2nd hand strat as a project build this weekend in these exact colours...turned out to be a junior>3/4 sized, haha

Looking forward to seeing this come together!

    Nice one!
Funny, cause i've been considering the exact same thing as you. I have a flamed maple strat neck that i've had in my possession for a while now and have been slowly finishing it off between projects. I found a next to new loaded F strat player body that is winging it's way to me as we speak. Also, like you, couldn't be arsed this time to do everything from scratch.

    Thanks guys!

The body has a fairly standard "import" size pocket (like a Squier). I know my neck heel will fit it, but if there is an issue I can work through it. I have fitted non-Fender necks to Fender bodies, and Fender necks to non-Fender bodies, so I guess you can say 'yes' I have experience with that .

Also, like you, couldn't be arsed this time to do everything from scratch.
    Zactly!!!

You had all the parts apart from the body It’s just nature’s way of filling the vacuum.

I likes the way you think!

And to add to that law of nature, I have exactly 1 hard case sitting in the cupboard that is empty.
I'm sure this will cause the planets to align correctly now. Phew!!!
