Isn't it great!? I just screwed it together and clear coated it. The art work is by Jason Ridgeway, I have done a few guitars for him. He is Kempsey based and often paints surfboards. He's an awesome young indigenous artist, and a top bloke too.

I think I have decided on a finish. Building this for my sons teacher as a surprise gift at the end of the year. Did a sunburst on the mahogany body and clear coated it, but wasn’t keen on the look, it came out as a brown sunburst. So I repainted. Light sand and coat of rustoleum enamel primer and colour, let it set, wet sand 1200 grit keeping off the holes and cut and polish, kinda designer shabby paint!
This finish, but a different colour and a LOT more of the finish worn through the primer. The clear coat under still seals the basswood

Thanks! I think he will like it. I really like the worn but shiny look on it, so this will be what I’ll go with for sure
