Thread: Build #2 EXA-7

    Build #2 EXA-7

Sigh. I should really learn not to browse the specials and seconds page on the Pit Bull site.

But I did that, and spotted this 7 string EXA kit and couldn't help myself. Now that my tele kit is almost complete I'll have this one to move on to. I've always been keen to experiment with a 7 string.

Now of course I'll have to think about finish. Something dark. Maybe purple. Or very dark blue.

The grain on the body looks really nice. The neck also looks very unique (in a good way) with those lighter patches.
    Great score.

It's Like my Credo - you know what I'm Sayin'

I like where you are going with your colour plans, looking forward to see how it comes out. :-)

even if you go with a solid colour on the front (with maybe a little sparkle), I'd be tempted to be somewhat transparent on the back to keep some of that grain - 2 colours does make the finish a bit more complex though..

    very cool!

Or, if all that timber gets too heavy you can always go for a holy explorer.

The more I think it through the more options I come up with. Not convinced about solid colours. Maybe a burst finish, but a fairly dark one. Aargh! Too many options.

The "too many options" are just the plans and thoughts for your future builds!

We'll see if there's a number three and if it starts the same way...

Too much awesome grain to hide under a dark colour.

An ultra violet or magenta shade in high gloss would look great.

Will keep an eye on how this one progresses.

Welcome to the Explorer Owners Club and wish you well with your quest.

    Cheers, Waz

Whatever you do, don't go with a camouflage pattern. I painted a guitar with one, put it down, and haven't been able to find it since.
