IB-6S Electric 6-String Bass (Spalted Maple)

Hello, I'm a 15 year old from Perth WA. Me and my dad ordered this 6 string bass kit and it arrived a few weeks ago and we're about to get started. Neither of us have actually built a guitar before, so wish us luck and no doubt we'll be having a few questions.

    Welcome aboard!
    - post any questions you have, there’s plenty of folk happy to lend a hand or opinion.
    - post photos where you can so that people can see the issues, it’ll help to diagnose problems and suggest remedies for you
    - take it slow, learn to love sanding and above all, enjoy the process!

Welcome. What a great project. You will have something awesome and unique when you are finished. I'm doing my first build too, it's a great experience. Like FrankenWashie said ask questions and post pictures here, you will get great advice which will make the project go smoothly and get the best result.

    6 String Bass Progress

Thanks for all the replies, we've done a mock build and taken it all down. We've also started to apply the finish (Tung Oil) to the body and neck of the bass. When assembled it the action was a bit high at the nut & down towards the bridge but we will measure & post this once its back together.
