    Hello from Brazil

    Hello everyone,

I'm a translator from Brazil who's gearing up for his first build, hopefully a Pitbull 7-string tele deluxe kit guitar, if it gets back in stock.

I've been tinkering with guitars for a while, mostly rewiring them to do weird stuff with the pots, but my woodworking and finishing skills are not that great.

Anyway, I've been going through your build diaries to see what I can expect from the undertaking and though I'd introduce myself.

    Hi and welcome.

Brasil is a big place, even larger than Australia! I gave friends in Vitoria but have never been there.

Not normally a lot of woodworking involved, apart from shaping the headstock, it’s mainly all about the finish. Once it’s arrived (or even ordered), start a build diary and ask as many questions as you want.

You're absolutely right, Simon. Brazil's a big place. I live in a mid-sized city called Araraquara ("Home of the Sun" in Tupi and, boy, does it get hot), three hours away from São Paulo.

There's an awesome seaside trip to be made from Rio to Salvador, with Vitória in the middle - just sayin'

Greetings! Are they still playing Bossa Nova’s in Brazil?

    DarkMark, thanks for the welcome.

There are some people who still play straight, traditional Bossa Nova, but I'd say that, in recent years, it seems to be something played abroad more than in Brazil.

On a completely unrelated note, elevators seldom play music in Brazil.

I’m genuinely surprised. Well I hope the genre survives, good luck with your Tele kit.

Well, it's been absorbed in the melting pot that's Brazilian music, so it's not like it's going away.
