    Acoustasonic Kits

I have seen these new guitars from Fender recently and would love to do a kit build of one of these.

Personally love this take on a semi-hollow, they also do Tele and Jazzmaster versions.

    Is this even possible?

    Thanks guys

I think there's another thread discussing this. The biggest problem is the pickups. The Fishman units are very expensive and are what:
    1) does the modelling to allow the guitar to sound like various different acoustic models; and
    2) allows blending the low and high impedance piezo and magnetic pickups together

There is a cheaper unit from Artec which will allow you to blend mag and piezo pickups or even have split outputs but it doesn't have the modelling like the Fishman unit. You'd need something like the Fishman Aura system for that which is quite expensive.

Yeah I saw that one last week too. No electronics though. Bit of a strange kit without them. I imagine as an acoustic it wouldn't have much volume.
