    P-rails, nice!

But after spending out on those, I would definitely have replaced the pickup selector switch with a decent one.

Ha ha! Yes Simon. Your right.
But ive never really had any problem with the kit selectors.
For me the big sonic changes are in pots and pickups so ill just wait it out and if the switch fails ill replace it then.

It's more about reliability and performance (and feel) than any effect on tone.

Oh well. Any Progress is Good Progress.

The wiring three-ring-circus has been going for a few days now and ive lost the battle against the lion (push-pull pots).
Ive managed however to wire it all up with regular pots and am now about to commence the setting-it-all-up circus.

Amazingly i put the bridge on. Didnt change one screw setting, strung it up and it was already intonated. How lucky is that!!!!

Ive taken about half a mm from the bottom of the nut as it was very tall and it is now just passable (but still a little too high for my liking so ill get to it in the coming week)

Initial thoughts on the pickups is that they have many voices. Can be beautiful and clear and chimey or dark and muddy and jazzy or cranky and gainey.
    I am quite impressed.

Here is a shot of the wiring …… of course i can hear you all saying “wow he’s sooo good at wiring”
Im a complete disaster with a soldering iron and always burn myself or burn straight through the plastic of an adjacent wire.
But it works and im proud of myself!

Also im quite excited about the finish that i have attained on this body. It feels really really good (as we would say when we were you g. Its just like a bought one)

My wife said it is more a honey like colour. Im ok with that too!

Oh. One more thing to mention. When I finally got it wired up and working there was a shorting out problem.

Youll see here that there is a missing screw for the bridge pickup.
That screw travelled straight down and into the wiring tunnel that takes the pickup wires to the control cavity.
So when i took that screw out and inspected the wires i could see where it cut through the plastic.
I just left the wires as they were and took the screw out.
    All good now.
Lesson? Check that wiring cavities and screw holes do not overlap.
