    Offset Ash

I picked this up in June 2020 but never got around to doing anything with it.
Found it during a recent clean up.
The kit was a special order that did not meet the customer's specifications so finished up on the specials. Not sure what was not right but I liked the look of it. And the best part - it is a lefty!
Ash body with a maple neck. Both have very nice grain.
Was thinking of maybe charcoal stain the same as the jazz bass I did a couple of years ago but I like the grain of the body so might just go clear coat. Will think it over while sanding.

Nice. Look forward to seeing where you go with this.

If I decide to do another kit, I'd definitely be leaning towards an offset body style (righty).
With 5 strats and 3 teles, something a little different would be nice.

Two more Teles to go to get the Strat/Tele balance right first!

I can see that the ash figuring is uneven between the pieces of wood used. It's not all straight and there's only one piece with highly figured ash. Probably why it was rejected. The positioning of the most highly figured section visually clashes a bit with the angled control plate and draws your eyes towards it. I'd go with the charcoal stain myself.

I wish I could argue with you, but you make a very valid point!

Nice find! Just happened to be looking into an offset build. Did you consider a p90 setup over the HSS?

Thanks Colin, make sense (the pick guard). Also makes it a very versitile guitar for a build as not much is needed to rebuild it. Though others might opt for another guitar, I don't want to have my hobbies taking over my living space. Less is more

Between the input and output tab connections on the pot, max volume is with 0 ohms resistance, so the signal just goes directly from input to output. Minimum volume is with 250k between the input and output, and the output is 0 ohms to the pot's ground tab.

Looking down on the back of the pot, with the three connection tabs at the bottom, your ground connection will be the one on the left, the output in the middle and the input on the right. For a right-handed guitar the two outer connections are reversed.

For the tone pots, you'll connect between the centre and left-hand tabs to provide your variable resistance. Full bright tone is with 250k resistance, maximum treble roll-off is with 0 ohms resistance (so the signal goes straight to the tone cap with no attenuation).

It's all relatively simple, and very fixable if it goes wrong. The worst that can happen is silence or a loud buzz; no risk of damage.
