This blew me away this morning

There’s some serious work in this, and a not inconsiderable amount of skill and artisanship. The Lab will however be sticking to timber.

All those tools and he hasn't got a 10mm spanner to do the tuner nuts up with so uses pliers!

No indication of how playable it is and how neck-heavy the guitar now is.

Lots of craftsmanship, but I feel it could be put to better use.

yeah, I especially liked some of the shots of his cutting rig. It obviously works but man, it’s MacGuyvered to all hell.

You have to admire the skill but I can't help but think truss rod adjustment a are going to be noisy and will require eye protection.

Due to the rigidity of the material, dey ain't no truss rod in that puppy! Your alignment and nut/bridge angles would need to be spot on for every build.

At USD 969 a pop, I'll stick to making my FrankenLab Maple/Ebony ones thanks.

I checked-out another video by the same guy, he included a demo of one of the glass guitars he builds, and honestly, they sound just like a regular guitar made from wood, so, that basically debunks the whole tonewoods thing.
