Did you paint those examples above???
And what is the blue box?
It looks like a tower hard drive.

Making the world a better place; one guitar at a time...
Can't get to my timber 'cause it's at the Men's Shed, which is closed due to Covid. Hardware is slowly trickling in. Fret wire came in yesterday. Here's what I have so far:
All that's left is for me to order some pick guard material, three 500k pots, a 500k push/pull pot, three caps (older Rics had 3 not 2 apparently), and a 3 way switch. Not sure if I should use log taper for all 4 pots or if I should use linear for the tone pots.. the Ric scematic doen''t specify.
Next week I'll attempt to make the bezel for what would normally be the bridge pickup out of 0.9mm stainless. Buying a bezel is way too expensive.
What am I missing? Why is there a strat pickup in a bass build?

Because it's a copy of a Cliff Burton of Metallica bass that had a bridge Strat pickup added for an even brighter sound (and a neck mudbucker for an even duller one).
You can see the cover for it being sprayed in post #5
Took me a minute, but I got it...Since it's a copy of Cliff's Rickenbacker, it will be named Precipice
