    Query .... whats acceptable

    Hi.
I just opened my 7th build.
All other kits have been pristine.
I often see comments, from folks having to tidy up some minor elements of a kit that are not too good - but what is too much. e.g.
    - I think I have a big dark glue spot.
    - The edge of the neck pocket is paper thin, irregular edged and does not meet the binding.
    - The binding is unstuck - completely loose at the neck pocket.
    - The bridge pick up cavity looks really awfull. Will need sone work.
Feels a bit like a second compared to the previous excellent kit.
Would this be something you regard as the luck of the factory draw and do your best with ... or have a chat with the good folks at Pitbull ?

    Yeah, no...

I'd be contacting Adam even if only for the condition of the neck pocket/binding issue.
    That's only my opinion.

The pickup route, while sloppy, is manageable (providing it's located correctly).

Thanks. I never thought about whether the pick up route location could be wrong.

Thanks. I never thought about whether the pick up route location could be wrong. I just checked. I think it looks OK.

Yeah, I didn't mean to imply that it wasn't right. My point was more that with it being routed so poorly (and all the issues collectively) I wouldn't presume it was located correctly. If that makes sense.

I just wiped the cap with mineral turpentine. Its a very nice peice indeed. Glue spots not quite as bad as I thought. I'm thinking what the hell. Cant be too hard to glue the binding in place and straighten up the edge of the neck pocket with a dremel. Ditto pick up cavity - bridge pick ups fit ok when I pop the neck into slot. I'm going for a solid black back and sides and I reckon I could fill the small v-shaped gap between the binding and wood at the pocket (if it is still there when I clean up the edge if tge pocket- anyway). The kit could teach me a few things.

Good news about the glue spot(s). I think it's pretty cool that you've just accepted this as a challenge/opportunity.

There's certainly nothing there that can't be overcome as long as you go into it with the attitude you're showing! Good on you.
I look forward to seeing what creative solutions you come up with.

    edit to add:
Having a second look at the two binding/pocket photos, it's not as bad as at first glance.
    Watching with interest.
