The core is rock maple 25mm, 10mm slices of Zebrano either side.
There is going to be a .5mm slice of red maple veneer between each of the zebrano halves to accent.

    Wow! Watching with interest!!!

I'm getting closer to pulling my finger out and doing a scratch body. (will definitely do a manufactured neck)
I haven't decided on the shape though. It has to be "not a tele" "not a strat" though. I wish I had an Igor...

Mate I'm lucky I'm not living in Brissy. There are so many folk selling hardwood slabs and Aussie timbers/Recycled timbers up your way I'd never have any money for beer!

It's always a case of "I'd like to do my own body shape" but then trying to find something original. I find everything I start to draw ends up looking vaguely Ibanez RG or stratish.
Careful what you wish for.....Igor has many cousins.

Yes, I get that. I am a strat guy through and through, and I think it's just ergonomically (near) perfect. I don't don't want to reinvent the wheel nor go OTT just to be different.
Then I have these strange marriages in my head of "a little bit this, a little bit of that" hopefully without looking like a dog's breakfast.
