    1ST Guitar build

I just received my staf-1 kit. This is my 1st guitar build. I just opened my kit and have looked at the body and the Neck.

The first thing that I noticed that concerned me was the pick guard. It looks like it is scratched. Do the pick guards all come with a plastic film covering it ? It is hard to tell. if there is a plastic covering then it just might be that.

Also..... I did a test fit of the neck into the body and it is quite loose. I expected the neck to fit snugly into the body.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thank you

I think the pick guard will have a film covering on it, so you should be OK there.

It's wort leaving the kit to acclimatise for a few days - you may well find tat the neck fit changes over that time.

There is quite a bit of play in the neck. I don't think that acclimating is going to make a difference in this case.

    Welcome scregar.

There is quite a bit of play in the neck. I don't think that acclimating is going to make a difference in this case.
Posting pics will help to determine if it is "normal" wiggle room or something is amiss. It's also easier to offer advice on a possible fix.

    Cheers

It is, as I've seen others do it, but I don't know the procedure. You can also link it to another location like YouTube.

Yes, if they are from your computer they have to be converted into a mov. format and be no larger than 1.9 meg.
Or if it is a youtube video just copy and paste the link and the video will appear.
For more info on mov files go here https://fileinfo.com/extension/mov

To add up to 5 mov, jpeg, bmp, gif, etc files at once, go to the reply box, choose "go advanced", bottom far right next to "post quick reply". Next go to the top line of icons above, third icon in from the right "attachments". A new box will open giving you up to 5 files to attach, either from your computer or from the web.
Add them one by one by clicking on one, then choosing location, then when finished click upload. When you are done click to close window. [ remember each file has to be no larger than is allowed so you will have to use a convert program first. The box that opens up tells you the limits.]

When you have closed the window go to the same attachments icon [top row, 3rd in from the right] and click on it, your files will be there. Click add all, and presto they are in your reply. Now click on "preview post" to make sure everything is setup correct. Then click on "post".
    Hope this has helped.
