And just to clarify, I'll probably be going ahead with the minimum order anyway, so no pressure on anyone to chip in here. But if you DO want to have a play with Paulownia, I definitely won't be starting 6 scratch projects all at once (despite any enablement from this fine forum...), and am happy to share.

    Hi Dozy,
count me in for 1 project worth. It would be the starting point for a future build.

Sweet. I hope you like 50x310 or 50x380, cause that's what I've ordered instead. (I'm going to be asking an acquaintance for some thicknessing assistance for my project).

    Got wood.

They are quite rough, but plenty to work with. Ended up being a length of 310, and a length of 360. The 360 will be too wide for the thicknesser, so I'll need to be a bit creative. I need to get it down from 50 to 30 for the she-oak cap. Thinking there could be some hand sawing in my future...

The 310 I'm going to thickness down to 40-42 for a small body project. For reference, the AIB I'm working on is about 300 wide. Teles are about 320.

@Trevor Davies still keen on half a length of one of these?

Hand crafting guitars, because Death Rays are expensive.

    Hi Dozy,

yes I'm still keen about the 50 x 360 mm. Would the half length be 500 mm length or 450 mm?

I am SO many acquisitions away from being able to do this in any affordable or feasible way right now. One tool at a time, and I have a jigsaw, a shinto trap, and a plunge router in my sights. In that order.

And a bench sander, oscillating sander, spray gun, nut files, bigger drill press... And a shed to put them in!
    The list is endless.

Who mentioned knitting as a hobby - maybe.
