    Wiring the DHB-4 pick ups?

hey guys, been a while. Real life has taken control.
I'm just finishing a DHB-4 bass and am a bit stumped on the pick up wiring. The kit comes with soapbar kind of humbuckers ( which I couldnt find any up grades for any where without going active). The wiring seems simple enough ...same as a LP but I have a total of 5 wires on each humbucker. Red and white are soldered together as are green and bare with a lone black. Guessing green and bare are earth but lost on the others.
    Any clues?

Black = hot, red & white = series link (insulate tip), green & bare = ground/shield.

I have had good luck with passive EMGs, although I have not used the soapbars. Would these fit?

thanks Fender. I'll keep those in mind. Odd they only give the length dimension and not the width or height

Are they the same soap bars that come with the EX-4 kit? (104 x 39mm)? Measur them, then take a butchers at Bartolini's web site. They have a range of different passive soapbars with a variety of tones. They are a bit pricey however.

close to finishing this, there is a loose wire somewhere on the neck pick up, so I need to look at the wiring before putting the knobs on.
I used a Tune-o-matic style bridge instead of the floating one in the kit, made getting a low adjustable action much easier.
