    I guess now that I've looked at this long enough, I'm going to have to do something about it...



    It's a pretty thin neck though (by design), so I don't want to reduce stability by taking too much, but it should be OK?

    If you are careful, and pare the heel back to the line of the body without further thinning it, then you should be fine see below

    Ebony grain fill time on the mahogany.



    Not sure if I'll go for another black/grey effect, or something more resembling blackwood (to vibe with my Cort acoustic bass), but I'm laying down the grain for either scenario.
