    Finished my headstock logo.
I was trying to get a rustic pearl look - with a convex clear coat.
The base is pearloid pick guard material. Laser printed logo on packing tape. The clear coat is layers of CA glue.

The CA glue caused me quite a bit of grief (or learning experiences!) as it takes a while to harden (I would use accelerator to set the glue faster if I did it again). OR, maybe I should have tried a clear resin!

A few layers of tru-oil over the top. I will leave it for a week and then add the tuners and truss rod cover.

FYI - accelerator isn’t a good idea for a clear coat or drop-fill application with CA.

The accelerator can cause bubbles to form in the CA and it will look cloudy. If you're just bonding something together that isn't going to be visible than it's fine.

Also if you plan to put anything over it like paint or a different clear coat, I'd have concerns about adhesion where the accelerator's been applied. I don't know that as scientific fact, but the accelerator I've used previously seems to have an oily feel to it.

Thanks McCreed - good to know. Next time I might try a clear resin instead.

Put on the tuners, strung her up, tuned, set string height, set intonation. Seems to play quite well.
So I will call this one finished.
I will leave it settle for a few days and recheck neck, string height and intonation again and make any adjustments.

Looks great Trevor! Nice smooth gloss finish.

In pic #4 (top right) I said "What's going on with the pickguard?" Then I realised you've got textured glass in your house that's reflected in that very shiny pickguard!

    Nice work.

    Edit:
Changed "bottom right" photo to top right. D'oh!!!
