My IC-1 PitBull arrived today. All looks good in the box.
And out.
My aim here is to duplicate Pail $tanleys PS10 Cracked Mirror Iceman.
I have ordered the mix of bindings/purfling to replicate his "Deluxe Binding" and have some 3mm plastic mirror for making the cracks as well as the (impossible to find) reflective pick guard and the Truss Rod cover.
After ordering the IC-1 kit I started making a template for all the cracks needed.
BUT to my horror
I discovered that PS10 is longer in the body than IC-1 by quite a bit which ultimately loses the PS10 sleekness (and room for longer shards of mirror).
I spoke to a wood guru friend who I play guitar with who said "no problem mate", if I gave him a PDF of the PS10 he could computer cut it out at his cabinet making factory.
Yippee!
A sign writer I also know was happy to let me have his plastic mirror cut offs to use too. I really am blessed to have such generous mates plus it keeps the overall expense of this geetah down to a minimum.
Yeah, I'm cheap. That's why I'm here.
Anyway, keep popping by and I'll keep loading pics etc. Please leave your comments and criticisms etc. I'm tough, I can handle the truth. This is my first build but I have a really clear idea of how to achieve the best looking budget Iceman Cracked Mirror guitar around.
Cheers
