Well, the wiring loom is finished, correctly I hope, using diagrams from PBG and Seymour Duncan, with help from Trevor Davies and WeirdBits. Neck is finished with maple stain, about 20 coats of TruOil, followed by polishing with Meguiars Ultimate. Had to do a little touch-up on the body, so it needed a fresh clear coat. Not wishing to buy another can of Gracey's and wait for it to arrive, I read about Watco Crystal Clear. It brushes or wipes on, thereby avoiding the orange peel problems of the last rattle can session. Supposed to be available at Home Depot, but I could not find it. I did find a product called Deft Clear Wood Finish, spray on. Both contain nitrocellulose (or cellulose nitrate) so no compatibility issues. It went on pretty well, I think. Now I'm just pacing the floor waiting for the clear coat to cure (is 10 days enough??). Then fine sanding again to 2000 grit, polish with Meguiars, assemble it all, and hopefully post a photo of something I feel pretty happy with. If there were no flaws or mistakes, it wouldn't be my work. Thanks to all who have offered encouragement and advice.
