Yep that’s correct. If you have prepared well it will only need a very light rub back between coats. Then lots of clears so you can cut it back flat and polish it up.
I got 2K acrylic lacquer put into spray cans about 10 years ago, and they were $55 each. I used about 1-1/2 cans.Yeah I was thinking upwards of $50. Last time I got paint mixed for spraying a car it was around $90 for a litre.
I've paid between $28 to $39 for 250ml of mixed 1K ac lac. (not to mention about a grand for a compressor and spray guns )
The clear is pretty cheap though.
