Cheers Mark. For the first ever burst I've sprayed I'm pretty happy.

I feel like your style of building is more in line with what this guy is after actually.

Looking pretty ok! I'm considering using an acrylic satin clear so as not to add more yellow to it....but at the same time I already have the poly and I've told him it will 'yellow'. I guess even with laquer it will eventually turn more yellow.

If he wants it old and reliced, then I'd have thought yellowing would be good.

Oh yeah, it's fine. I'm just thinking out loud because I kind of like this muted look. The flame probably isn't in keeping with the vibe to be honest.

Anyway, he's happy and easy going, so moving on. Another pass over the binding, if it was mine I might consider repainting it. He came around yesterday and actually likes the bleed into the cracks, so time for first sealing coat. A bit of fluff got caught in the back grain unfortunately, but I know this satin poly is very forgiving, so I'll wait until it's dry and knock the top off it before the next coats.

Cheers, guys. Fluff issue was very minor so all good there.

Mostly just watching poly dry at the moment. Had a false start with the headstock decal and had to sand back the face and redo the stain and burst. Re applied it this morning and it's acceptable. Owner is stoked so as always.. that's the main thing.

Few more bits rocked up, like some chrome pickup rings. Also decided on a slightly fancier tailpiece which I think will look pretty cool.

Will post some pics when it gets here, but this is where it's at currently.
