re size image

This is driving me nuts.
I've put an app on my phone taken a pic copied the url then tried to post it on here but it's too big.
How do I make it the right size?

Images need to be no larger than 1500 pixels on their longest side and (I think) no larger than 1Mb file size.

What phone/device/platform/OS are you using?

An android xperia phone and Windows 10 on a laptop.
I take the photo on Quickimgur, send it to my email copy the url and paste it to the forum.

Download Irfanview. (Do an internet search for it.)
It is freeware.
In the drop down menus in the software there is the option to resize the image so the longest side is no more than 1500 pixels.
You can vary your file size by lowering the quality of the saved file - about 75% usually does the trick.
I use it for posting photos that have a higher resolution. It resizes very effectively.
