    Hi beetleman,

I too am new to all this, so I can't offer that much build advice, but I know a thing or two about pyrography. I did it on my current build and have done it on numerous other non-guitar projects.

As you won't see it underneath paint I presume you will be putting clear over the pyrography? For me, I'd suggest sanding the surface you want to burn as if you were preparing to apply the true oil. I think this will be using about 240 grit, so that the oil can get into the pores. Once sanded you can burn your design. After the pyrography is done you can use an eraser or even lightly rub with steel wool to clean the surface up before applying oil.

    Hope that makes sense

One bit of advice is it’s always worth shaping the headstock. It helps the guitar look finished.

    Hi and welcome.

Everyone makes mistakes, it's the one thing I'm really good at making.

How did you do the lettering? It looks great.

Though in this instance it gives a lot of real estate for the large Beatles logo. But yes, at least a rounding of the end would have given a less 'kit guitar' look.
