Finally got the time to solder my resistors in place. It's 5am and the kids aren't up yet. Lol.

I do not usually worry about putting them in uniformly (unless I'm building for someone else) because I'm pretty much colour blind. I just use my multimeter instead anyway.

Some work in that Andy! Nice and neat job. Do you buy the board in a kit or start from scratch?

Looking very tidy mate. I might have to start your trick of getting up early before the kids. My work usually starts later at night haha

The pedal Andy is building is a PCB from Madbean Pedals. You buy the circuit board and then have to source all the other parts separately. Tayda is good for this.

You can make your own circuit boards, and Madbean have layouts for that, but it requires a bit more equipment and a lot more time.

I do most of my pedals on stripboard, which is a different approach again.

I remember those days; it was the worst. Miraculously our daughter started sleeping in pretty much the first day of the lockdown, and suddenly my sanity returned

Mid-summer here in the UK, so I tend to wake at 5am these days when the sun shines through the window and can't get back to sleep. I used to get up for work at 5.30am when I was commuting, so it's not too different.

That 5:30am itch has been scratched again! Capacitors, voltage reg and tranny are all in.

C6 was supposed to be 39n but I only had a 33n so I went with that.

One of the biggest challenges with this one is fitting it in an enclosure properly as the beltron brick is so big! I could have used smaller electrolytics but I didn't have that range.

I've included a side photo. I've got a few different enclosures so if this one doesn't work then I'll get a taller one.
