    First mix out of Reaper

Still a work in progress but I'll drop it anyway...

Still just using real basic functions, but getting some flow with it. I know there is waaaayyy more capability in the program than I'll ever use, but I guess better too much than not enough!

Sounds good! I'm listening with Peppa Pig as background noise, so I'll give it another go when the kiddos are asleep but I'm digging it

    Thanks guys. Appreciate it.

Still tweaking a few things and mostly using it to learn my way around Reaper.

This song is also my bass playing (not) debut!
Hopefully it will at least get the idea across to a real bass player .

Hoping to get the trio going again soon with the corona restrictions easing.

Nice Bon Scott-style voice you have there!

Intro levels to backing levels when the vocals come in are a bit different and quite noticeable. 'Where did the guitar go?' stuff. Maybe keep the guitar panned left on the intro as well. You can always add a few extra guitar fills in on the right to keep things balanced. Your solo guitar is centre panned, which with the rhythm on the left, does make the right channel rather lacking in activity. Try having the solo guitar panned left. Unless you are trying to recreate a lifelike choir situation or similar, then hard L, R and C panning is normally a good way to go.

Sounds legit @McCreed you have to be happy with that for a first go mate. I especially love the parts where the guitar catches the vocal hooks. Didn't listen too intently with headphones or anything, but I'm sure there will be plenty more once you keep getting stuck right in and can give you some feedback if you keep being brave enough to throw your work out there and share it with us. Well done mate.

    Thanks BD.

I've made a few tweaks and updated the link.

Intro levels to backing levels when the vocals come in are a bit different and quite noticeable.
The guitar level in the first 12 bars is the only part that changes there, and it's not so much a volume level change as it's a doubled gtr track with different panning and fx level. I don't hear a significant disparity in level though.

Your solo guitar is centre panned, which with the rhythm on the left, does make the right channel rather lacking in activity.
Actually it's not. Rhythm guitar panned 30% left, but guitar solos 30% right (plus a slight bump on the left rhythm) with last 12 of last solo panning over 25% left. Vocals are centre panned however.

I did sort of hear what you said about the right channel, and have pushed a couple things that way.

Sounds great, I'm listening to it now, as Simon Barden said, I can definitely hear a bit of Bon Scott in the vocals too.

Thanks Doc. I've had people mention the Bon thing before, I don't hear it myself, but I guess I should take it as a compliment.
