First kit build

Hey everyone!
i just ordered my first custom kit guitar and was wondering if anyone had any little tips for me when it arrives
i ordered a tele custom kit with a bridge p90, and a tune'o'matic bridge.
I'm thinking of getting it finished at a local spray shop to ensure a proper finish. Any other tips?

Hey Ethan, welcome aboard!

I don't know that I have any particular tips, though I will say that with every build I've done my original plans changed when I had the kit in my hands.

Hi.

I'd really have a go at finishing it yourself. 95% of the work is in doing the finish. Just screwing the bits in place isn't really making a guitar.

If the finish doesn't go to your satisfaction, then you can always strip it down and have someone else spray it, but you really should have a go at doing it yourself.
