good question. i really dont know.
i dont really experiment with string gauges as when ive tried it in the past i have not been very happy with the outcome.
so now i just put 10's on everything.....

Hi OliSam, I'm making a short scale guitar( http://www.offsetguitars.com/forums/...16360&start=30 ), considering a Pitbull DMS-1 maple neck for the final build. Wonder what is your feedback about the Pitbull neck you have on your kit? thanks

    Hi Guitalias

    The neck is just great.

There is a lot of talk of bad "fake rosewood" fretboards. However my experience has been just fine.
I rubbed fretboard wax (it is very hard wax and doesnt melt or move at all) into the fretboard and it feels just great. really.

The back of the neck itself is beaut. i flattened out the c-curve with a sanding block a little and i really like how it turned out. i finished the back of the neck in tru-oil (which i am now a convert to). I'll try and get some close up shots of the fret board and attach them here.

You got some big wood worm at your place Oli. Very precise ones to boot! 🤣😉

I like it, very double take inducing. How’s the weight and does it neck dive at all?

    Hi Frankie
It is a great guitar but it was just too heavy to enjoy playing.
So i put it away and stewed on it.
Ive had many ideas in the back of my mind for ages.
It is now beautifully weighted and there is no dive at all.
So i think it is a keeper for playing. Not dust collecting
