Did a quick mock build today and it’s at this point that you can see a fault that I’m still working out how to make look a little better.
I’ve been looking to try some Entwhistle AFGs for awhile but didn’t realise that they are a taller coil pickup so they sit out of the guitar a bit. Not sure yet if I have enough timber thickness to route down towards the spring cavity without breaking through.

You can always put them aside for another guitar and get some standard height ones for this one.

From the Entwhistle dimension diagram, they look to be just under 5mm taller than a standard humbucker. Will 5mm be enough to get enough string clearance?

Interesting how close the the Line6 is to one of the 3x3 headstocks that Fender developed for some of their MIJ Acoustics in the 80's. (Of course, the chip in the upper left corner is an "aftermarket" addition.

.... I am not a fan of the prototype Tele headstock. I guess Fender weren't either ;-)

Vexing. Plug and redrill I guess?
    Bit of PITA though.

So quick plug and redrill and trem now fits like it should. Doing a full build before final sand and finish on all my guitars now as usually go gung ho on the finish and then find a pile of issues once it’s going together and end up scratching.
Got some Aussie Orpheus pickups as a replacement for the Entwhistles which will go on another build.
A few finishing shapings around heel of neck and it still feels a bit thick so will continue sanding down the thickness.
Have to put a piece of veneer in under the locking nut as a tad low. May have to get a shorter trem block as the spring height at the moment means it will be a shirt grabber.

Body with two coats of oil on and a few more to go.
Neck is fretted and just some minor shaping to complete and then onto the finishing.
