    Hello - about to start 335 style build

    Hello all,

    I'm in Sydney, and am about to start building a ES-335 style semi-hollow body. It's not a PBG kit - it's from DIY Guitars who have now closed up - although by the looks of it, it is very similar to the kits supplied by PBR. I hope it's OK to discuss builds that aren't PBG kits here!

    G'day John. Welcome and good luck with the 335. They are lovely guitars, but I must admit to being afraid of building one.
    Mantra: No more pedals, must finish BlueyCaster...
    Disclaimer: I haven't done woodwork since high school, and wasn't really paying attention at the time ...

    I’ve always wanted to do one, but if it doesn’t compete with or live up to my Epiphone Casino, I’d be really bummed out.

    That's a big risk. The Casino is also a great guitar. I love what Gary Clark Jr does with one!
