Hi from Australia + Truss Rod HELP?!?!?

    Howdy there,

Recently bought the newish AGM-3Q kit after having lurked around for a while tossing up which kit I wanted.

It's awesome!! Everything looks fantastic, apart from a small issue with wiring setup which I've got sorted out and a new switch+tone knob on the way. Planning to do a clear dingotone finish with lots of sanding in between to get a smooth, natural wood kinda look and bring out the gorgeous quilted maple (ik not to sand through that tho...).

Only thing I'm not quite sure about is the truss rod - it seems to be protruding a fair way from its hole. I've attempted to attach three photos which show this, and how the truss rod cover can't sit flat because the rod is poking out.

Is this normal? Any advice on how to fix it?

    Cheers

Yeah, that's not right. Can you push it back down into the neck? You may have to turn it a little counterclockwise (looking down the neck toward the body) to there is no bow in the rod to let it slide in a bit further.

Alternately, it might be that the nut has just wound itself off during transport (it depends on the style of rod and I'm not 100% sure which is used in these necks) so it might just need to be turned a bit clock wise and till it winds back down.

I would try just pushing it in first. It's probably just slack in the channel and slid out a bit, once you push it in and have tension on the rod and neck with strings it will hold in place fine.

Thanks...amazing what "just giving it a push" can do!! All sorted.
