and with the garden make over complete, I can get back to my slowest EVER build. Put the first clear coats on yesterday, sanded them and applied the headstock decals today. More clear tomorrow weather permitting, if it rains I'll wire the pickguard.

Looking good there Dedman. Have you thought about customising that pickguard to show off that burst a little more?

Looks just fine to me as it is.
Agree with Simon, that’s a menacing looking guitar.

"What I lack in talent I make up for with enthusiasm"
aaaaaand finished!
So , end specs are : stained top ( mix of 20 parts red to 1 part blue U-Beut dye) burst done with a full size touch up gun as my air brush decided to die that day. ( auto acrylic). What was originally a maple fretboard has been dyed black which bought out some nice grain, dots replaced with paua shell. back of the neck and body stained in Walnut. Bridge is a Wilkinson as are the tuners ( staggered), pick ups are Tone Rider Surfaris which I like better than the City Limits I have in my black strat. Wiring has the push pull on the first tone to give "everything on" in pos 2 and 4.
This took ages to do. Partly because i've been guiding my nephew through his first builds, he's done a tele and is working on a Mosrite with an interesting pick up combination atm.
More pics when it isn't raining.

Looks great Deddy! I like the "7 sound" wiring, but I don't really use the all on. The neck & bridge combo is why I've used it.
Hard to beat Toneriders for sound and value too.
Is the fretboard lacquered also? Look forward to more pics.
Cheers,
Mick
