    Hi from Perth, Australia

G'day, was told about Pitbull Guitars by a local luthier today. Sounds interesting. The choice of guitars is a bit overwhelming though. Does Pitbull do an Ibanez S series clone, prefer fixed bridge, dual humbucker.
    Thanks

    G'day from Cairns, FNQ.

Have a look at the IB-1F.

    Hi and welcome.

No S-series style clone guitars. But someone once did take an IB-7 and sand down the edges to make it very much like an S-series. It was a Guitar of The Month, back in 2017. https://www.buildyourownguitar.com.a...l=1#post130406. So you could do something similar.

The XB-1 looks to be a closer starting point for your requirements (general Ibz shape, 2x humbucker and fixed bridge), but the minimal controls (just volume & 3-way toggle switch) locations may put you off. https://www.pitbullguitars.com/shop/...itar-kit-copy/. But if you can rout, then some filling and routing could get you to where you wanted to be. All depends if you just want to put a kit together, or spend rather more time making it into your own creation.

So I've been lurking a bit & have a better idea what I might want to eventually build. Wondering what feedback the forum experience might be able to provide.
Plan is an offest body, 2 humbuckers, with 24.75" scale neck, 6 in line tuners.
Thinking along the lines of a custom DMS-1 kit (hardtail Mustang) - body swimming pool routed, bridge body holes not drilled, no scratch plate, no single coils, no neck. Source scratch/knob plates & humbuckers elsewhere.
Replace neck with 24.75" scale 6 in line, perhaps reverse headstock from FBM-1 kit or PGB-N4RB (22 fret) or 3 x 2 from RD-1 kit .

Are the neck pockets all the same dimensions? Other considerations? What is the difference between On Backorder & Out of Stock? Does Out of Stock mean never back in stock?

    Thanks

Hi Mate, welcome to the forum.

Your best option would be to talk to Adam about what is achievable from stock parts or what can be effectively done via custom orders.

Having additional routing done, or bridge/control hotels deleted is doable but you need to be absolutely clear about what is needed.
Taking a F standard body shape and mix matching it with a G scale length might be something that the factory would stumble on.
Getting a stock body, re-routing it yourself and filling in unwanted drillings might be a faster, if more difficult option, depending on your skill and tool level.

There are also forum members here that could do those mods to a standard kit for you, or build you a custom neck If you really want to go for the G Scale, as I’m not sure that the neck pockets are the same or compatible. It may also depend on which factory the individual kits are sourced from as PBG deals with more than one producer.

Your best bet is to talk to Adam first, as he can advise you with no uncertainty as to what is possible to mix and match from his stock, what is doable by factory, or what is going to create problems getting a factory to achieve in a custom kit.

Hope this has helped. Good luck with your plans and your future build!👍🏾😁

Over the time I've been around Pitbull, very few kits have gone out of stock and not come back in and when they do, Ads removes them from the shop, so I don't think there's much difference apart from what felt good for Adam at the time they ran out. Adam has indicated that there is a shipment that is a couple of weeks away from delivering, following a delay in getting the shipping container out of China due to COVID. That will probably see a couple of the more popular kits back in stock. As FrankenWashie has indicated - drop Adam a line and talk custom if this is where you are thinking - he's been doing this for a while and will be able to tell you what the factory in China can / can't do.
