    Hey thanks ! These pieces were cut down to about 6 mm. It was more difficult laminating the top. Due to the flaws and inclusions little bits want to break off, especially in the edge routing. This one will get totally grain filled before gloss clear .
    A complete body from it would be tricky, you would have to want a rustic look. Would make an awesome Tele, they always seem to lend themselves to difficult or rustic timbers

    Yeah it was a lot of work getting the finish to look right, but I also learnt a lot from persevering with it.

    For sure, finishing can be tough. I use a product that is UV cured called Solarez for grain filling - used in surfboard making and cures in sunlight and cures clear. Then spray poly over. Leaving it long enough before buffing is the hard part

    Aye, I put a set in my Ltd EX351 a couple of years ago, replacing the EMG HZ's. They are an amazing pickup. I can see a set of the neodymium Dark Stars in my future

    Will you be putting up a sound byte of them anywhere?
