The body end of the neck is fixed, so the more concave bow the neck has in it, the more the strings are being raised up at the headstock end, which will increase the height of the strings at the body end (as well as in the middle of the neck). If the frets are nice and level, then you can get away with an almost flat neck if you want a really low action.

1st coat of DT Karijini Red.
I must say, I really like the colour even after just one coat!

Wow, that is a nice colour!
It should really come alive when you get a clear coat on there too.

I’m going to have a go at an all Dingotone finish (ie. using the supplied topcoat) I’m not too worried about getting a high shine on the back so I’ll see how I go with that...

Just an update for the diary...
3 coats of DT and I think 2 or 3 of intensifier and I’m happy with the colour. Going to try and forget about it for a week or so then final coats...

looks great man, give it a couple of weeks to settle before you do anything more with it. DT takes extreme patience.

Understood! It’s hanging in the garage and I’ll try and forget it exists...

    Progress for the diary...
I actually put a filter on this shot to make it more like it actually looks. For some reason pics come out looking a bit pillarbox red but it’s more of a cherry red.
Anyway, 1st coat of final coat freshly applied.

In other news, I’ve made a scratch plate that’s a kind of a tribute to the LP Jr in that it wraps around the neck pickup but a bit more stylised to fit the 70’s Japanese vibe I’m aiming for

    It’s been a while...
Whilst the red looked ok when freshly applied, I found that it just didn’t look right. Too many colours.

So I’ve been back to the drawing board and finished the back in black to match the headstock. It’s far from perfect (this is a VERY flattering pic) but I’ve decided to accept all the imperfections. Hopefully it’ll play and sound good enough to pick up a bit more ‘character’ on the stage and studio...

Next I think I’ll try fitting the hardware and see how it plays...
