Yeah I agree, have a go at a burst. Worst case scenario you end up doing a solid colour.

It's funny, but sometimes these challenges turn into the best part of a kit build.

    A burst would look great.

Here’s what I did with the heel, feels much more comfortable than the squared off shape

And the headstock. I wanted a simple shape so used a pint glass as a template

I like that head profile, it seems unusual but nicely understated. It mirrors the opposite end where the body is also a single radius curve.
Build #1, failed solid body 6 string using neck from a scrapped acoustic (45+ odd years ago as a teenager!)
Build #2, ugly parlour semi with scratch built body and ex Peavey neck
Build #3, Appalachian Dulcimer from EMS kit
    Build #4, pre-owned PB ESB-4
    Build #5, Lockdown Mandolin
Build #6, Sixty six body for Squier
    Build #7, Mini Midi Bass

Yeah that was my thinking. Wanted something simple but different without being whacky

Your headstock makes me smile knowing the template. Good luck with the burst. Give it a good practice until you are happy with your results.

Very effective headstock on that guitar shape, well done.

Are these a set neck or are you going to do ferrules and screws?
