    Hello from London!

Hi all! First time builder here, based in London (the one in the UK)

I've been playing the guitar on and off for a few years now (after being a keen but incompetent player way back in my teens) and decided to take the plunge into building one from a kit when I realised that I was wussing out on making simple adjustments to my treasured LPJ because I was worried about breaking it. Hopefully the experience of building my own will give me the courage I need

I've just ordered the lovely-looking DTL-1; not sure how long it'll take to get here but am already looking forward to it.

I do have some questions about which tools to get -- would this be a good place to post them? Or should I start a build diary and post them there?

    Build #4, pre-owned PB ESB-4
    Build #5, Lockdown Mandolin
Build #6, Sixty six body for Squier
    Build #7, Mini Midi Bass

    Hi and welcome.

Yes, starting a build diary is really the best place to ask questions (or in one of the more 'specialist' sections of the forum).

Welcome. Building a kit will give you plenty of courage. I hadn’t even adjusted a truss rod before I built a kit, now I wouldn’t think twice about doing any adjustments. Good luck.

Thanks, guys! I'll start a build diary, then. And @DarkMark -- that's good to hear, truss rod adjustments are definitely one of the ones I'm too nervous to do right now.

    Welcome mate,
I am new too and am freaked about the things I need to do especially in the setup process.

    Enjoy the build.
