    Good score and nice transformation. I'm guessing it's one of the Bullet Strats, yes?
    I love it when upgrades cost more than the guitar itself!

    However, I've found those necks to be quite good. Yes, they typically require some fret work, but set up properly they're fully playable and stable. And feel great in the hand. I have a Bullet Strat from 2002 that's been modified beyond recognition and I just love the neck (enough that I refretted it).

    Hopefully you haven't chucked out the original neck, as I'm sure you'll find a need for it in the future.

    Actually not a Bullet. I think it's a Standard made in Indonesia.

    I agree the neck was surprisingly good for such an inexpensive student instrument and will only need a little fret dressing. I plan to use it for some future project.
